About INNOVAT3

INNOVAT3 is a 36-hour high-intensity Web3 innovation sprint designed to bring together builders, hackers, designers, and problem-solvers to ship decentralized ideas that matter. This fully online hackathon is not a code-along—it's a pressure-tested arena where blockchain innovation meets execution.

Part of the annual techfest Innovaciōn, INNOVAT3 is hosted by Institute of Engineering & Management, Kolkata, organized by IEM Institute of Fundamental Research (IIFR), and powered by Innovaciōn.

What to Expect

36 hours of uninterrupted hacking—idea to prototype, no hand-holding. Problem statements across Web3, AI/ML, FinTech, Sustainability, Open Innovation, and more. Mentorship from industry practitioners. Judging focused on impact, innovation, and feasibility.

Simple guidelines to ensure a fair, productive, and innovative hackathon for everyone.

Team Size

Teams of 2-4 members are allowed. Solo participants are welcome.

Development Window

All code must be written during the 36-hour hackathon window.

Originality

Projects must be fresh and new—no past projects allowed. Everything must be created during the hackathon timeline.

Web3 Focus

Build innovative Web3 solutions—open innovation encouraged across blockchain, DeFi, NFTs, DAOs, and decentralized applications.

External Resources

Open source libraries, frameworks, APIs, and tools are permitted and encouraged.

Submission Requirements

Include a working prototype, presentation slides, and demo video showcasing your solution.

Projects evaluated on impact, innovation, feasibility, and execution quality—not just flashy demos.
